Chad’s Memories

Mixed feelings about this one. As usual, Jeremy was performing in a West End play, which made the sessions quite difficult. And to compound our problems, I had been coaching A.Y.S.O. soccer for two years and I'd developed nodes on my vocal chords from all the screaming and yelling! Anyway, we rose to the challenge and got some results.

Here again, you can observe our uncanny knack for making the wrong decision! The record company wanted "Bite the Bullet" as the first single, which was almost as big a blunder as "Teenage Failure" all those years ago. Why didn't we dig our heels in and fight them on it? I'll never know. Jeremy's "Zanzibar Sunset" was (and still is) a beautiful song, and it deserved to be the single. Oh well. It's too late now!

In any event, as things turned out, our strategic error was of no consequence, since the president and treasurer of the record label ended up in jail for embezzling all their funds from Hughes Aircraft! Oh boy, truth is stranger than fiction!
